Project details: We were asked to attend site to investigate multiple compressor failures on a REYQ48M8W1B Heat Recovery VRV II system.

Having carried out a detailed review of the collated service checker data, we were able to identify several expansion valve failures and coil pipe sensor failures. A faulty solenoid valve body was also found on the outdoor unit, which was the likely cause of the compressor failures.

We were able to provide clear recommendation on future preventative checks with a view to avoiding breakdowns occurring in the first place.  We also provided comprehensive training for our customers maintenance/service team on the use of service checkers.

Project details: We were contacted directly by the MTV facility management team to help them resolve continuing end user complaints of “too hot/too cold”.

After carrying out a detailed review we found the original commissioning process to be inadequate. No control strategy was formulated at the commissioning stage and the necessary field settings had not been programmed on the indoor units. The site was also suffering with heat stratification with no room remote sensors installed to contract this issue. The existing iTouch controller had simply not been commissioned and all slave indoor units could not be monitored at all.

We proposed a comprehensive upgrade of controls throughout the site. The iTouch controller was replaced with an iTouch Manager. The iTouch Manager was commissioned to achieve the specific requirements of the building, and to provide user friendly control management of the system. New graphical layouts were created and all automatic functions were programmed to achieve the required control strategy. In addition to this, remote room sensors were fitted to all indoor units and all necessary filed settings were programmed. The control wiring was altered to allow all slave units to be controlled and monitored, and all new as installed drawings were created for the project.

We provided full training to the management team on the use of the iTouch Manager and continued to support the site technically.
